- Written and originally performed by
the R&B band "A Taste of Honey"

        - The band consisted of:

            - Janice Johnson (vocals & guitar)

            - Hazel Payne (vocals & bass)

            - Perry Kibble (keyboards)

            - Donald Johnson (drums)

        - The band's name was taken from an
album and song of the same name by trumpeter Herb Alpert and the Tijuana
Brass, who was to found, along
with collaborator Jerry Moss, A&M Records

		- Interestingly enough, they were never
to work for A&M, getting signed instead to Capitol records after the
executives heard them performing the song Boogie Oogie Oogie in a
nightclub with a great audience response

		- The inspiration for the song lyrics
came from a moment on a USO tour when they told the stoic GI crowd that
"if you think you're too cool to boogie, we've got news for you"

		- Boogie Oogie Oogie is a classic disco dance hit that reached #1 on the
Billboard Hot 100 chart and remained in that position for
3 weeks in 1978 at the height of the disco craze

		- It was also #1 on the R&B, Dance, and
		Disco charts

		- A Taste Of Honey won the 1978 Grammy award for Best
          New Artist

		- In the years between 1978 and 1982 the
group reached the Billboard charts 8 times

		- Since it's release in 1978, the song
has sold over 2 million copies, and remains one of the most recognizable
songs from the height of the disco era

		Song Lyrics - Song Title
If you're thinkin' you're too cool to boogie
Boy oh boy have I got news for you
Everybody here tonight was boogin'
Let me tell ya
You are no exception to the rule
Git on up
On the floor
Cuz we're gonna boogie oogie oogie
Till you just can't boogie no more
Boogie, boogie no more
You can't boogie no more
Boogie boogie no more
Listen to the music...
There's no time to waste,
Let's get this show on the road
Listen to the music
And let your body float
The sooner we begin
The longer we've got the groove
Listen to the music
And let your body move
Now git on up on the floor
Cuz we're gonna boogie oogie oogie
Till you just can't boogie no more
Boogie, boogie no more
You can't boogie no more
Boogie, boogie no more
Listen to my bass yeah
[bass break]
Get down, boogie oogie oogie
Get down, boogie oogie oogie
Get down, boogie oogie oogie
Get down
