Because Of You - Song Lyrics

  • Written by Arthur Hammerstein (uncle of Broadway lyricist Oscar Hammerstein), and Dudley Wilkinson in 1940 for the movie "I Was An American Spy".
  • Most recognizable version was done by Tony Bennett (born Anthony Dominic Benedetto 8/3/26) in 1951, his version was a #1 smash hit for 10 weeks
  • Remade by Connie Francis in 1961, her version did not make the Top 40 charts

Because of you
Because of you,
There's a song in my heart.
Because of you,
My romance had its start.

Because of you,
The sun will shine.
The moon and stars will say you're mine,
Forever and never to part.

I only live for your love and your kiss.
It's paradise to be near you like this.
Because of you,
My life is now worthwhile,
And I can smile,
Because of you.

Because of you,
There's a song in my heart.
Because of you,
My romance had its start.

Because of you,
The sun will shine.
The moon and stars will say you're mine,
Forever and never to part.
