- Mike Hurst (born Michael John Longhurst-Pickworth 9/19/41 in Kilburn, England. He joined The Springfields just before they recorded Silver Threads and Golden Needles
- The Springfields' cover version of Silver Threads and Golden Needles made them the first UK based vocal group to reach the Top 20 on the Billboard magazine Hot 100 singles chart
- The Springfields officially disbanded in 1963, although Dusty Springfield went on to a very successful solo career that continued up until her untimely death from breast cancer in 1999
