  • Carlos Santana (born Carlos Augusto Alves Santana 7/20/1947), has been a icon on the guitar since he first came to the attention of a large audience following his performance at Woodstock in 1969.  At the time, the band Santana had yet to release an album
  • Rob Thomas, (born Robert Kelly Thomas on 2/14/1972) is best known as the lead singer for the band Matchbox 20, although he also performs as a solo artist
  • The song Smooth was a # 1 smash Top 40 hit from 1999, holding onto the #1 spot on the Top 40 chart from October 1999 until January 2000, a total of 12 weeks
  • A multiple Grammy winner at the 2000 Grammy Awards, it won Song of the Year and Record of the Year awards, among others
  • The song was included on the smash hit triple platinum album "Supernatural" by Santana, which won the Grammy award for "Album of the Year"
