Something - Song Lyrics

  • Frank Sinatra called this "The greatest love song ever written", and performed it regularly throughout the 70s
  • It was the only song written by Harrison used as a single
  • The song was inspired by Harrison's wife, Patti.  Patti left Harrison and went on to inspire "Layla" and "Wonderful Tonight" when she and Eric Clapton hooked up a few years later. She and Clapton were married from 1979-1988

  • Harrison came up with the title after hearing a James Taylor song called "Something In The Way She Moves"
  • A Classic first dance song at weddings

Something in the way she moves
Attracts me like no other lover
Something in the way she woos me

I don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

Somewhere in her smile she knows
That I don't need no other lover
Something in her style that shows me

Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now

You're asking me will my love grow
I don't know, I don't know
You stick around now it may show
I don't know, I don't know

Something in the way she knows
And all I have to do is think of her
Something in the things she shows me

Don't want to leave her now
You know I believe her now
