- The Carpenters got their biggest break when trumpeter Herb Alpert heard one of their demos and signed them to the fledgling A&M Record label
- Alpert & co-founder Jerry Moss were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame in 2006 for their contributions to finding and developing new artists like The Carpenters
- Karen's brother Richard Carpenter continues to watch over the group's legacy, in addition to performing and arranging on his own
- Altogether The Carpenters have had three #1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, fifteen #1 hits on the Adult Contemporary Singles Charts, and twelve top 10 hits.
