- Written and originally performed by the band Journey
- Formed in San Francisco in 1971, the band began as a
jazz fusion rock band, relying heavily on instrumental numbers
showcasing former Santana members Neil Schon on guitar and Greg Rollie
on keyboards
- In 1977 lead vocalist Steve Perry made his debut with
the band, and the era of the power ballad and arena rock was born from
what was to become one of the most successful rock bands in history
- Although critics, particularly the highbrows at
Rolling Stone Magazine, were (and continue to be) harsh and incredibly
negative about the band's music, the 18 Top 40 hits and the sold out
arenas worldwide tend to demonstrate just how out of touch the
"critics" can really be
- Their "Greatest Hits album has sold over 14
million copies
- Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' was originally released on
the album "Evolution" in 1979
- The album reched #20 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums
chart
- This was the first of 18 Top 40 hits for the band,
reaching #16 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart
